Well, this I'm not going to try to be the nice guy here. There are always two parts minimum to a photo. One, is the message, the second is the actual composition. I'll start with the message.

I love it. The shot, in terms of the message is powerful. And to some degree, the composition works into it. The color, the grainyness, and of course, the subject all work together towards this goal.

The composition, however, I find lacking. It has few elements of photo composition. The one element I can identify is "optical center" and that's an element of graphic design. Rule of thirds may be applicable here, but that is debatable.

None the less, I think perhaps the lacking of compositional elements as traditional photographers look for may be in favor of this photo. I for once, am not bothered by the cliche gas mask.

Overall, good job, quality work.
