Like all life, The Balrog has to begin at some, early point in life, and that is more deadly, so my many things, you've given brith to a demonic creature destined to live in the depths for the possibitlies of forevers..Thank! I'll never go cave-exploring! Lol...Its nice you critique your own work but theres really know need, a Balrog is of any age, and he looks ''young'' (perhaps 70 years - like a tree)..Your piece is extraordinary x
O= that balrog is awesome! on my game and even in the movie its hard to get a good look at them o_O i don't think he's too skinny at all XD if it were a Caerog, that'd be a different story, but since it's all grown up... yeah lol (btw: a Caerog is a baby Balrog ^.^)
An excellent first attempt. While I agree he is a tad bit too skinny it is fine, it is still a great piece. I think more emphasis on a Balrog's signature weapons-Flaming Sword, and Whip would have added a to to it. Other than that the colors, and background really work together to make it appear that he is in some sort of hellish abyss. Superb job!
You nailed his face and background, but i think you're right in that he is small/skinny. He lacks that presence of command you find in the LOTR movie. but if this is a first attempt, then you are on your way to a great finish!
Wow~! VERY nice! I don't think he's too small, MAYBE on the skinny side, but altogether I think its a success. Its very identifiable as a Balrog, even without any explanation, the color choices are perfect, and the shading and transparency is stunning. Was this done entirely digitally, or did you start with a sketch? I'm also interested to know if you started with any kind of outline at all, or if you just went at it and painted it all in as you went. I'm particularly impressed with your use of contrast in the piece. ... Basically, may I eat your brain?
