UPDATE!

omg, I can't believe December is here already.. That means christmas is only a matter of days away! o___o
but I've still got room for a few more sketch commissions. The progress is quite slow at the moment though, and my apologies for that, but with no internet where I live and being quite busy with a lot of things, the commissions have unfortunately been put on hold for a while. I'm trying my best to finish them as quickly as I can, so YOU WILL GET YOUR COMMISSIONS (and hopefully all will be done before christmas), and I'm not stealing your money (I don't have the heart to steal, seriously), you'll just have to be patient (although you guys have already been awesome and the most patient people I know of..! much love to you all! <3 ).

10 dollar sketch commissions for December!

Hi!
Would anyone be interested in a sketch commission for just 10 dollars? :3
Here's the thing: Each month, I'll put up 10 commission slots, and for 10 dollars you get a slot and of course a sketch commission. I'll put your icon up on a list, and write your status there too. If there are, say, three people who buy a slot, the first slot will belong to the first person who paid me 10 dollars, and the second slot to the second person who paid, and so on..
so, yeah, you have to pay in advance. But this system will guarante that you do get your drawing! And when you pay in advance, I'll be safe knowing that you won't just make me draw something and then never pay for it.

So here's what I will and won't draw:

* I won't design your character, 'cos that's too much work. If you want help designing your character, order a normal commission (50 USD).

* I won't draw nudity or genitals. So no hentai or furry-porn or stuff like that. But I can draw kissing or cuddling, or just cute romance

* no robots, because I suck at drawing those and no cars. and no buildings or still-life.

* and sorry, but I won't draw any of my original characters.

* I WILL basically draw everything else your character, fan art, etc etc..

* 5 dollars extra if you want more than one character in the same picture.

* A sketch for me in this case isn't just a sketch. I'll first do the sketching with a blue pencil, then do the lineart with a normal pencil, and in photoshop I'll remove the blue sketch underneath the lineart, and make the pencil lines darker so it'll look better. So, in short, the "sketch commission" will be more of a drawing. Traditional/digital.

* for a little extra money (5 dollars) I can do some simple shading in photoshop.

just an idea I got...


I was looking through my many sketchbooks, and got the idea that maybe I could sell one?
Or; I would buy a new sketchbook, spend some months, maybe a year, but not more than a year (I usually fill up a book in less than 6 months) sketching, doodling and drawing in that book, and then I would sell it.

Would anyone be interested? I'll only sell one book at the time because it would be too time consuming to do many. But you could pre-order that book; you pay me for the sketchbook itself (the blank one) before I start drawing, just to sort of seal the deal, y'know, then you pay the full price for the book when it's done and I'll send it to you by "snail mail"
If you pre-order the book, you will be able to request me to draw some of the things in the sketch book. Like, if you want me to draw Hitsugaya for instance, or some other character, I could draw that in the sketch book. I won't put a lot of work into the drawings, they'll be sketches, but I won't just fill up your book with crap either. I'll treat it as my own sketchbook, but I will also keep in mind that someone will be owning it after me.

What I won't draw in the sketchbook though, is my original characters. I'm too paranoid that someone will steal them XD I want to be the only one, except my close ones, who have originals of my characters. I hope you understand.

One more thing. The book might be expensive. I don't know the exact price yet, maybe I'll sell it to the highest bidder? XD
Ok, I'll be a bit mean: I want at least 77 USD for the entire book, maybe more depending on how much work I put into this, but I'll sell it to the highest bidder

my God, I just can't believe it..

I got the news yesterday, but I refused to believe it was true. But now I've seen SlipKnoT's press conference about it, and so, sadly, it is in fact true: Paul Gray is dead.
I just want to say that even though I didn't know him personally, he was an awesome guy and a great musician. My thoughts go out to his brothers in SlipKnoT, his family, and also to all the Maggots out there - we'll all miss him.
Gosh, I... I don't know what more to say. There's so much I'd like to say, but... When someone dies, it's just really hard to grasp that they're actually gone.. But his memory will live on, it most definitely will. And I want to thank him; SlipKnoT would never have been what it is without him, would most likely not have existed without him either. SlipKnoT is my absolute favorite band, and I love the music Paul and his brothers have created.
It was really sad to watch the press conference, but it was a nice one at the same time: they really loved Paul, and had a lot of nice things to say about him. It was touching.

*sigh* this is a sad, sad day..

Rest in peace, Paul.

Corel Painter SUCKS! :C

..but hey, that's just my opinion. Maybe Painter is awesome but I'm just a lousy artist who can't figure out how to use it.

I'm still kinda pissed that photoshop just won't work on this computer, despite all our efforts (thank you people!).. I contacted someone who works with repairing computers, and he told me my processor was too weak. So my new computer isn't good enough and I need to save up money for a better one. What a waste of money this computer was.. v_v

In the meanwhile, though, I'm using Corel Painter X. And I seriosly do think it sucks. Sure, it's got like a million brushes, but when none of them are any good then what's the point? And my tablet pressure thingy won't work with Painter. I might just as well have been using a mouse..!
The ONLY cool thing about Painter is that you can rotate the canvas. Painting with it? Hopeless.
So I've been using Tegaki-e instead; that's an oekaki program and it's by far better than Painter..! Now that says a lot.

I'm awestruck by those who manage to make kick-ass paintings in Corel Painter, so KUDOS to you guys!
It must be harder than drawing realistic-looking stuff in MS Paint.. o__o



I've been recommended SAI, but I can't find the full version (for free and actually working) and truth be told I'm not too happy with Sai either. Sure, it beats the crap outta all other programs I've tried when it comes to lineart, but painting with it isn't that great.

I guess I've just gotten too used to Photoshop to want to use any other program.. v__v CS3 I miss you... </3

Thing is though, it will be quite a long while before I'll get a new computer, again, and I have commissions to finish, and I don't want them to look crappy or to tell my commissioners that, hey, sorry dude, but I can't start on your commission till I get photoshop back, so you're gonna hafta wait for several months before it's done..!

so.. does anyone know of - and no, not Gimp, - but a GOOD and FREE drawing software thingy I could use in the meanwhile?

Dib's t-shirt: DO WANT! D:

As a few of you might know, I'm a big fan of Invader Zim, and ever since I saw this guy in a comic-store with Dib's "smiley" face t-shirt on him and realized those shirts actually excist, I've been trying to find out where I could buy one..!

Now, I found one here: [link] it's a little too dark.. the Dib shirt I saw was a lighter shade of blue. Not light blue, just lightER.

My question to you guys is; you wouldn't happen to know where I can find  such a t-shirt? I just think it's so darn awesome..

Ok, so I've searched everywhere for a "cure" to my little though at the same time huge computer problem.. And I've just about given up now.. So I'm trying one, hopefully last thing, which I tried on my other account as well, and got help but none of the advices worked: I'm asking my DeviantART watchers and visitors to help me fix my computer..


OK! so here's the problem.

my mouse lags in photoshop.

I have a brand new Packard Bell Easy Note TJ71, which has Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit), AMD graphic card driver thingies, McAfee anti virus program thingy, and plenty of RAM and memory.
Despite all that, I can't draw in photoshop, neither CS3 nor CS4! And I NEEEED Photoshop! to draw digitally that is.
It's got nothing to do with my Wacom Intuos 3 tablet, 'cos I've checked that, and the problem is the same when I use the touchpad. I can draw in other software like MS Paint; Photoshop is the only "place" where the problem occurs. I've tried SO MANY different things to try and fix the problem I don't remember 'em all, and nothing seems to work, and it appears Google has run out of solutions.

I'm so desperate to get this problem fixed I'm offering a free commission to who-ever can fix it! D:


please let me know if you need more info or specs or anything like that.

UPDATE!!


Ok, so I'm not sure what I did, but for the last 15 minutes, Photoshop has worked flawlessly..!!
Last thing I did, was rolling back the mouse driver to a previous one, use CS3 instead of CS4 and run it as administrator, then running it in compabilitymode (or whatever it's called) "Windows Vista (service pack 1)", then updating my tablet drivers - again - and reinstalling it TWICE, then restarting the computer twice as well. And now photoshop works..! o.o
Seemingly, nothing else worked, but on second thoughts, maybe it was all the things I tried, together, that finally made it work? idk...

Hopefully Photoshop will continue working.. And a HUUUUGE THANKS to EVERYONE who helped me!!

I´ve been drawing a lot traditionally though, and I´ll show you some new stuff next tuesday or wednesday, when my new computer (laptop) arrives
Or, well, actually the laptop has arrived, it´s at the post office as we speak, thanks to the superfast delivery from NetOnNet.no but.. I can´t afford to pay for it right now, so I won´t be able to go pick it up before I get my monayh, which is on tuesday
Right now I´m using the school´s Mac, and I hate it... >_>
or, well, I love the fact that they let us use their computers, I just don´t like Macs. Oooh, I´m so gonna recieve hate mail for saying that..! But I just don´t get Macs... I´m not that fond of Windows computers either ´cos they keep dying on me, but at least they´re more user friendly - in my opinion. And damn, those Macs are expensive!!  D:

"Avatar" stole a tattoo design from t3h Inturnetz?



So I was watching some awesome clips from AVATAR on my computer, and then suddenly I noticed Jake's tattoo. There was something awefully familiar about it. It reminded me of this tattoo I found long ago.. So today I googled it, compared the images, and went "...OMFG!!! they're the same!! D: "
Sometimes it sucks to have a photographic memory.. I mean; I LOVE the Avatar movie, but finding out that they've spent 16 years on the film but couldn't come up with an original tattoo design for Jake, that was just dissappointing...

TEGNESERIELINJE på BJERKELY!!!



Tenkte jeg skulle "reklamere" litt for ikke bare skolen vår, men for Norges FØRSTE tegneserielinje! Wooot! Nå slipper dere å reise til sverige!! XD (ikke at det er noe galt med sverige).

Bjerkely ligger mellom Elverum og Kongsvinger. Det er en folkehøgskole, hvilket betyr at det er en skole uten noen eksamener, prøver eller karakterer!
En folkehøgskole er nemlig et alternativt år før universitetutdanningen begynner. Det er et år du kan vokse på, bli mer selvstendig, og drive med det man interesserer seg for. Folkehøgskoler er for mange en tenketid hvor man utvikler seg mentalt og forbereder seg til tyngre studier. Det eneste som derfor teller er å finne det morsomste faget du kan tenke deg å holde på med i ett år. For meg var dette tegneserie.

DEt er ikke mange som er klar over at det er startet en tegneserielinje i norge, ettersom dette er et helt nytt konsept. Etter ønske fra mange kunstelever har Bjerkely Folkehøgskole startet Norges første tegneserielinje. Forskjellen på tegneserielinje kontra kunstlinje er fokusen på historie framfor kunst.
Vi jobber med fortellerteknikker og tegneteknikker, og utvikler vår egen strek og vårt eget utrykk. Selv om tegneserier som regel er laget på papir, er det muligheter for å jobbe digitalt, lage serier av fotografier, og å drive med maling.

Vi har fått besøk av Morten Harper, president i Norsk Tegneserie Forum, og Tor Erling Naas som er proff tegneserietegner. Morten Harper hadde et foredrag for oss i høst om asiatiske tegneserier kontra europeiske og amerikanske, og bevisstgjorde oss på sjanger og karakteristiske trekk for de forskjellige typer tegneserier.
Tor Erling Naas hadde en tre-dagers workshop med klassen, hvor vi gikk gjennom tegneteknikker, skriveteknikker og idèutvikling, og tilslutt produserte vi hver vår tegneserie. Tor Erling Naas kommenterte hvert av bidragene og gav en skriftlig tilbakemelding til hver av elevene.

I fjor høst reiste vi til London sammen med en av Bjerkely's fem fotolinjer; foto digital. Her besøkte vi tegneseriemuseet, London Graphic Center, Forbidden Planet, og Orbital Manga/Comics.
Det blir en utenlandstur i år og, men det er usikkert enda hvor turen går.

Bjerkely Folkehøgskole er en internatskole med 4 internater, der elevene og stipendiatene bor. Det sosiale på skolen er for mange det viktigste med folkehøgskole, og det er 2 stipendiater per internat som passer på at ingen sitter på rommene sine og drar de etter øra ut i fellesstuene for å ha det gøy Her arrangeres filmkvelder, jentekvelder (og pølsefester for guttene ), spillkvelder, gitarkos foran peisen, og generelt pysjparty.
Hver av klassene på skolen har også ansvaret for to elevkvelder i løpet av året. Dette vil si at de skal arrangere en temakveld for resten av skolen.
Tegneserie arrangerte i fjor Tekken turnering med superhelttema og skal til å arrangere en til med hemmelig innhold (for jeg vet nok at dere sitter her, fotofolk, hehe).

Det er forsåvidt ikke lov med alkohol eller rusmidler på skolen (for all del, røyk som en skorstein - men plukk opp etter deg ), men dette sier seg jo selv. Så vent med alkoholen til ferien begynner.

Det er faste måltider hver dag, og rekker du det ikke så sliter du (din sinke ). Det er 5 minutter til Flisa by, hvor du kan handle deg snacks. Dette er veldig nødvendig ettersom skolen serverer fisk to ganger i uka. På Bjerkely betyr fisk pizza på elevkjøkkenet. Ja, vi har et eget elevkjøkken, fotostudio, radiostudio, filmstudio, mørkerom, datasal, og alt annet man kan trenge. Hvert internat er utstyrt med kjøleskap, fryser, vaskemaskin, mikrobølgeovn, vannkoker og vask på hver stue (frysern og vaskemaskinen står i kjellern). Det er mulig å bo på enkeltrom med eller uten bad, eller dobbeltrom. De som bor på enkeltrom uten bad og de som bor på dobbeltrom deler et fellesbad utstyrt med to dusjer og to doer (både doene og dusjene er i separate små rom på badet som det går an å låse).

Rommene inneholder seng, sofa, skrivepult, kommode med hylle, stol, speil og vask (de som har enkeltrom med bad har et eget rom med vask, speil, hylle, dusj og do). HVERT ROM ER OGSÅ UTSTYRT MED SØPPELBØTTE! XD
Du kan innrede rommet som du vil, selv om det ikke er lov til å flytte på møblene, men det driter vi i..
Å, forresten! Om du vil henge noe på veggene, må du gjøre det på en måte som ikke skader veggen eller malingen (BlueTack eller sånn klistertyggis-ish ting greie funker... )

about the SPIKE novel

after my latest poll I noticed that quite a lot of people want me to submit more chapters.
Good thing is - I already have submitted more chapters, but they're in my other account. Yes, I have a second account. In that account I have submitted more original art (mostly "Spike" related) and more chapters from the novel - and I've promised to submit one to two chapters a month
